Boy has this summer been busy!

What a ride the past few weeks have been!  Animal Alliance has been involved in filming a feature movie - yup - something totally different for us and well outside of my comfort zone. The movie is called Saving Dinah and you can get details on the website www.SavingDinah.com or check out the Facebook group for lots of "behind the scenes" photos and info. We are also on twitter @SavingDinah  The photo above is Kaidee - waiting patiently for her turn to act as a doggy extra in the convenience store scene. Meanwhile, creatures continue to need help and we continue to do our best to help. If you are looking for a new friend in our area (Southern Ontario) please let me know.  We have some amazing kittens, cats, a couple of lovely dogs and even some canaries.   Yup - a lady passed away and her family were intending to release her canaries to fend for themselves. Fortunately a friend intervened and the canaries went to him temporarily. Two chicks are each missing an eye and I have been treating them with eye drops. It doesn't seem to bother them that they are "handicapped" - so please don't tell them!  You never know what creature will be looking for help next - we try to be as open as possible.  Here it has been really hot and this week we had the first rain in 6 weeks. Of course I have no air conditioning, so the cats are loving the rain and the cooler temperatures it brings! The dogs however still dislike the thunder...  I hope you are having a lovely summer wherever you are. Cheers! Shelly and crew
