What's up?

Boy things are hopping around here!

Luna's pups are growing, growing and getting big and silly and very adorable. It is hard to believe that they will be 8 weeks old this weekend - so next week they will get their shots and be able to go to new homes...

Bailey is comfortably established in his new place - as resident cat, official greeter and chief of lap-warming at a Toronto hospital. The folks there were very excited and he had quite the welcoming committee there to greet him. He is such a sociable guy that I am sure he will adore his new role! Gosh - I love happy endings! /(new beginnings!)

This week I spent a LOT of time on the road - picking up from pounds, picking up from/dropping off to vets, picking up from/ dropping off to foster homes.... pheeewww!

I am very glad that I don't have to do any driving this weekend (although I do have a couple of people coming to look at puppies). This program really is a 24/7 thing!

One of the dogs I picked up this week is an absolutely gorgeous fellow - a three month old, harlequin great dane pup. I am in love! Actually we have some really nice dogs right now - a pomeranian, a poodle, a shih tzu, a black lab...

People often have the perception that all the dogs that are in rescue are mixed breeds, old or aggressive and nothing could be further from the truth! About 30% of dogs in shelters are single breed and we have had everything from chihuahuas to St. Bernards.... You might have to be a bit patient, but if you are really set on a specific breed eventually you will find one in need of rescue.

The handsome fellow at the top is Ted - one of the cats currently being fostered at the main office. Ted is a siamese mix with the most cuddly, affectionate purrsonality! As you can see he is incredibly handsome and has gorgeous super soft fur! I think the fact that he is cross eyed makes him even more charming! Ted's only requirement is that he needs a home that is wiling to give him eye drops once a day, and has no dogs. He is absolutely petrified of dogs no matter how nice they might be. If you think that Ted might be an awesome new guy for you then let's chat!
