News On The Critter Front....

SO the good news is that Diamond has gone to a new home - yippee!
He now has two gentle and very sweet little girls to play with, and there was lots of giggling and big decisions to be made as they picked out new toys for him.

Diamond is one of those cats that loves to play fetch with a little foam ball, and to chase "Feathery-things-on-a-stick" type toys. Of course the girls were trying to figure out what his favorite colours might be.:o)

The wonderful people at Global Pet Foods in Alliston are now hosting Sebastian (pictured above). Isn't he a gorgeous smoky coloured boy?!? If you know anyone who is looking for a very sweet, very handsome new dude in their life - he might be just the ticket!

Poor Puff STILL has an infected ear! grrrrr! The poor guy has been coping with this for months now and with the most recent analysis, it looks like we may have to go with an antibiotic that has huge potential side effects....

One of our wonderful vets is trying to research the issue though. If there is a gentler but still effective way of doing things she will be sure to find it for us...

The remaining orphan kitties are holding their own but the littlest isn't gaining weight as well as I would like. We will have to wait and see...:o(

Momma Mallow is being a good mom and feeding them, plus they are big enough now that they are starting to eat wet food on their own, plus they are being supplemented. So it isn't from lack of trying. They do run and play with the "big" kittens and seem to be bright and cheerful. Time will tell.

The cutest thing, is that one of Mallow's kittens is such a good "Mommy's Helper". She pats the orphans while they are nursing, then rolls them over and puts them in a head lock so she can clean their faces. She is really tiny herself, but because she is so much bigger than them she manages to do it.

It is so sweet!!!

On the doggy side of things I may have someone interested in adopting Piper. She is a very nice lady who used to volunteer for us and is allowed to take her dog to work. Wouldn't that be nice!

On the other hand I have committed to taking in an antique chihuahua...
It really never ends!

Stay tuned...
